BJP playing dubious role in deporting Rohangiyas from Jammu?
12/2/2019 10:46:14 PM
Early Times Report
Jammu, Dec 2: After abrogation of Article 370 and bifurcation of J&K into two Union Territories (UTs), residents of Jammu are hoping deportation of Rohangiyas but BJP leaders appeared to be playing politics on this issue.
Instead of taking a clear stand to deport Rohangiyas, living illegally in Jammu city and its outskirts, BJP leaders are playing dubious role and they are rather helping these foreigners to settle in Jammu.
People of Jammu are now blaming Saffron Party with adopting double standard on deporting Rohanigyas and Bangladeshi from Jammu.
People have reasons to blame BJP for playing politics on this emotive issue because was during Atal Behari Vajpayee led NDA government in 2001 that first batch of Rohanigyas had reached Jammu and the then state and central governments had settled them in Jammu.
The then NDA government that had opened the flood gates for the influx of huge number of Rohangiyas and Bangladeshis in Jammu- reasons best known to them.
BJP is ruling the country with absolute majority at the Centre and the party was equal partner in the PDP led coalition government in J&K but no action was action to deport Rohangiyas from Jammu except giving statements.
Furthermore BJP leadership had constructed concrete structure for Rohangiyas to appease Kashmir Centric separatist as well as coalition partner PDP for the lust of power in the year 2016 when fire broke in illegally colony of Rohangiyas. One BJP senior leader along with local leaders had immediately rushed to the spot and sanctioned material for constructing concrete structure for them just to appease PDP.
The non-seriousness of the BJP-PDP government to address the burning issue of Rohingyas's ouster from Jammu can be gauged from the fact that a high level committee was constituted by the previous PDP-BJP government but nothing had done.
The previous government had framed a committee vide Govt order No 510 Gad of 2017 dated 24-04-17 to look into the issue and send recommendations to Government for deportation of Rohingyas from Jammu but no action was taken.
Earlier BJP leaders gave excuse of PDP's pressure but now BJP leadership cannot give any excuse.
