Kansal directs to make allotment of Govt accommodations more transparent

JAMMU, Dec 4: Principal Secretary Planning, Development & Monitoring Department, Estates and Information Department Rohit Kansal today directed the Estates Department to develop a database management system (software) to make allotment process of accommodation to Government Officials more transparent.
The Principal Secretary issued these directions while chairing a review meeting of the Department, here.
The meeting was attended by Director Estates, Subash Chibber; Deputy Director Estates Kashmir, Fayaz Ahmad Fayaz; Deputy Director Estates, Jammu, Mohammad Alyas Khan; Executive Engineer Estates Division, Jammu and Srinagar, besides other officers of the Department.
The Principal Secretary also took stock of functions of the department besides taking overall review of its ongoing projects and those in the pipeline.
He directed the officers to complete the languishing projects in a time bound manner and sought immediate completion of 7 additional blocks comprising of 112 flats (2-BHK) coming up at Pampore, Srinagar to overcome the shortage of accommodation for the Move employees.
Kansal was informed that the work on all the projects is in full swing and 96 flats at Pampore would be completed by January 31, 2020, while the construction of 28, 2-BHK flats at Sarwal, Jammu is also nearing completion.
He directed the department to make available all basic facilities at the upcoming flats and renovate the existing accommodations on modern lines.
The Principal Secretary also reviewed the progress on 28 under construction flats, 1-BHK at Muthi and sought their time bound completion. He further directed to start the execution of flats at Gulami Bagh, Jammu at the earliest.
Kansal also directed to prepare Detailed Project Report (DPRs) for thousand (1000) flats (500 each) at Jammu/Srinagar under Public Private Partnership (PPP) mode.
