Div Com Jammu reviews progress on construction of bunkers along with IB

JAMMU, Dec 4: Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Sanjeev Verma today chaired a meeting with DCs of border districts in Jammu Division to review the progress on construction of bunkers along international border and other related issues in the division. The Deputy Commissioners apprised the Div Com about the progress of works on under construction individual and community bunkers in their respective districts. It was informed that a total of 5259 bunkers have been completed so far in the division including 4786 individual bunkers and 473 community bunkers.
It was informed that 1164 bunkers in district samba, 908 in district Jammu, 1168 in district Kathua, 1622 in district Rajouri and 397 in district Poonch have been completed including community and individual bunkers. It was further informed that remaining bunkers are also under different stages of construction of foundation level, superstructure level and slab level. The Div Com directed the DCs for proper monitoring the construction of bunkers besides the check on quality and also directed the executing agencies to expedite the pace of work for timely completion of construction of individual and community bunkers.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner Kathua, O P Bhagat, Deputy Director Planning, Chaman Lal, Chief Planning Officers, Jammu, Joginder Katoch, SDM, Akhnoor and Marh besides executive engineers of executing agencies while Deputy Commissioner, Samba, Rajouri, Poonch along with concerned officers attended the meeting through video conferencing.
Later, The Divisional Commissioner chaired a meeting with Deputy Commissioners of Jammu division to review the progress on installation of solar lights in the districts. The Div Com directed the DCs to identify the public places, locations for installation of solar lights in their respective districts.
The DCs apprised the Div Com that most of the sites have been identified and they are in process of identification of more sites for installation of solar lights in their respective districts.
The meeting was attended by CEO JAKEDA Dr Owais Ahmed, Commissioner JMC, Pankaj Magotra and other concerned officers while Deputy Commissioners of Jammu division attended the meeting through video conferencing.
