Early Times Report
Jammu, Dec 4: After the lapse of over one month, since Jammu and Kashmir has become a union territory with Lieutenant Governor as head but SP Malik continued to be Governor on the official website of Finance department.
As per the official website of Finance department though the Home page has the photograph of the first Lieutenant Governor of new Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir GC Murmu but in the section Who’s Who, the first person is still SP Malik, who is mentioned as Governor of Jammu and Kashmir.
Moreover KK Sharma is still written as Advisor to Governor and in the contact section also his name is written as Advisor to Governor in the first column.
“You cannot say that the those updating the website are not aware but it appears to be their total carelessness that they have updated the home-page of the website, with an impression that usually people have a cursory glance at the homepage and not in the inner pages”, an official said, adding that it was unfortunate that after lapse of over 34 days, since the departure of former Governor and coming of Lt. Governor, the entire website of the Finance department has not been updated.
“Though the responsibility of updating the government website lies with Informatics Centre but usually, they have deputed employees to each department for updating of the websites and in the present cases, it is still unknown as where the onus lies”, the official said, adding that though mobile internet services have been snapped for so long but such excuse could not be taken by department as they have the broadband connections and they have also been updating the regular orders of the department.
