JAMMU, Dec 5: Commissioner Secretary, Public Health Engineering, Irrigation & Flood Control (PHE, I&FC) , Ajeet Kumar Sahu today convened a meeting to review on line water billing and implementation of SCADA system for providing 24x7 water supply to the consumers of Jammu.
The meeting was attended by Chief Engineer PHE Department Jammu, Sanjeev Kumar Chadha; Superintending Engineer PHE Mech. Urban Circle Jammu, Ajay Singh Wazir; Chief Accounts Officer, Riyaz Hussain; Project Manager ERA, Manjeet Kotwal, Executive Engineers and other concerned.
Speaking at the meeting, the Commissioner Secretary impressed upon the officers to incorporate the technology in their work by doing precise geo-tagging of all water connection which would help in getting a reliable and accurate GIS map of water supply pipe lines.
Commissioner Secretary also stressed upon the installation of smart meters for all commercial as well as domestic users, collection of revenue on fast pace and to create general awareness among people to deposit their water dues timely.
He also directed the concerned officers to take strict action against the defaulters.
The meeting also discussed the timely distribution of water bills, recovery of water dues from Govt departments, besides other steps required for bringing improvement in water supply schemes by way of ensuring the up-gradation of the present system through SCADA system. |
