MENDHAR, Dec 5: Pointing on the worst condition of road from Mirza Mohar Surankote to Fazalabad, locals of Fazalabad protested against Public Works Department, here today.
Shouting slogans against the PWD and District administration, the protesting villagers were demanding black topping of the road. Alleging that no action was taken by the district administration and PWD to repair the road, the villagers said that it takes about one to two hours in covering 4 kms route from Mirza Mohar Surankote to Fazalabad because of extremely bad condition of the road. Besides, they added, bad condition of the road is also a major cause of accidents but there has been no action by the concerned department as well as the district administration, which were repeatedly apprised of the situation. The protesting villagers threatened to launch a vigorous agitation if their demands are not address immediately. |
