Early Times Report
Jammu, Dec 5: Groping in the dark to retrieve its lost position in Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh, Congress today crossed all limits of duplicity by lavishing all praise on former chief minister Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah. Congress said that it was Sheikh Abdullah who had "forced" Maharaja Hari Singh to accede to the Indian Union.
Ironically it Congress party which had jailed Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah for eleven long years after dismissing him from the position of 'Prime Ministership' on 8 August 1953. Sheikh Abdullah was arrested on the direction of first prime minister of the country Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru for allegedly hatching a conspiracy against the State in the infamous "Kashmir Conspiracy Case".
By glorifying Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah, Congress leadership has demonized its own leader and first Prime Minister of the country Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru.
On the 114th birth anniversary of Sheikh Abdulla, Congress issued an official handout in which party remembered the great contributions of Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah in leading the people of Kashmir in rejecting the two nation theory of Jinnah.
Paying rich tributes to the Abdullah, Pradesh Congress chief recalled his remarkable role in leading the people of Kashmir against the two nation theory of Jinnah and for acceding to India. It was Sheikh Abdullah's tall leadership that people of Kashmir rejected the two nation theory of Jinnah and large no of his followers fought against Pakistani invaders and tribal's & even sacrificed their lives, to join and stay with India for ever. He worked closely with the then leadership of Congress party in the country and facilitated the historical job of Maharaja Hari Singh to accede the state to India.
