BBIA urges government to take care of cement tiles manufacturing units

Jammu, Dec 6: Bari Brahmana Industries Association (BBIA) has appealed the state government to take care of the cement tiles manufacturing units, which are on the verge of closure.
According to press release, a meeting of BBIA was held under the Chairmanship of Lalit Mahajan in the presence of Tarun Singla Sr. Vice President, Ajay Langer Vice President, Viraaj Malhotra General Secretary, Rajesh Jain Secretary and Vivek Singhal Treasurer BBIA Association and other members to discuss the issue in respect of ban imposed on the extraction of Sand & Bajri due to which the industrial units engaged in the manufacturing of cement tiles and other related products facing acute problem.
It has been brought to BBIA's notice that on the directions of the NGT and State Pollution Control Board, the extraction of Sand and Bajri has been banned as the approval of the State Environmental Assessment Authority is pending with the aprox 40 firms to whom the contract has been awarded by the Geology and Mining Department on the basis of tenders but the concerned authority is taking the issue casually for the grant of permission resulting the industrial units are suffering and all the projects work and Civil Construction work has been stand still from so many days.
BBIA appealed LG Girish Chandra Murmu to kindly intervene in the matter and issue necessary directions for the speedy clearance of the approval by the State Environmental Assessment Authority for the applications pending.
