12/6/2019 9:34:42 PM
Early Times Report
Jammu, Dec 6: Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Party (JKNPP) has appealed all Jammu based organizations to support the Bandh call of December 7.
A joint press conference was held by several organizations of Jammu appealing the people to observe complete shut down on Saturday, December 7 so as to express their solidarity with cause of Jammu projected by NPP.
The representatives of various Jammu based organizations unanimously announced to participate in the Jammu Bandh called against the 'dictatorial moves' of the government in banning the mobile internet services with no timeframe fixed for restoration of the said services.
They further endorsed the other issues including winding up of Toll Plaza Saror, withdrawal of 9-11% token tax on vehicles, curb on soaring prices of vegetables, and other essential commodities, review of transfer of registration powers besides other Jammu related issues projected by NPP leaders Harsh Dev Singh, Balwant Singh Mankotia and Yash Paul Kundal on multifarious occasions.
The resolution presented in press conference and endorsed by Manish Sahni President Shiv Sena (Bal Thackery); Vice President Bahajun Samaj Party (BSP) Charanjeet Bitta; Inderjeet Khajuria Chairman Jammu Pariyatan Vikas Mandal & All Jammu Hotel Lodges Association; Piran Ditta President Guru Ravi Dass Sabha Jammu; Raj Kumar Babbar President Swarnkar Sangh Jammu Province; Pritam Sharma President Kranti Dal; Rajiv Mahajan President Shri Ram Sena Jammu; Dev Raj Saini Chairman Railway Station Tourist Taxi Union Jammu; Harbans Gurmeet Singh President Rajinder Bazar; Hardeep Singh President Moti Bazar Businessmen Society; Chander Udhay Sharma General Secretary Gandhi Nagar Residents Association; Anshu Sharma President MAM College Students Union; Mahesh Bakshi President Law Deptt. Jammu University Students Union; Jatin Sharma President Commerce College; Japneet Kour President Gandhi Nagar College Students Union; Sunpreet Kour President Parade College Students Union; Bansi Lal Sodhi General Secretary Tourist Taxi Association; Jagjit Singh President Jammu Swarankar Sabha Jammu; Zeeshan Mehra Vice President MAM College Students Union; Ravinder Singh Vice President Taxi Union Railway Station, Dogra Kranti Dal Vice President Kailash Mohan; Brij Mehra President Akhil Bhartiya Kashyap Mahasang; Rakesh Kumar Sharma General Secretary Jammu Pragati Manch and Ved Gandotra President Jammu Kashmir Freedom Fighter Association. The participants said that the people of Jammu were being perpetually subjected to a biased treatment despite their nationalist credentials and inspite of the fact that they had fully supported and endorsed the government's move of abrogation of Article 370 and Article 35A.
The representatives of various organizations condemned in one voice the failure of the govt. to control rising prices besides imposition of heavy token tax on vehicles. The resolution further stated "the prolonged ban on mobile internet services has adversely impacted upon normal life causing irreparable damage in diverse forms to various sections of society.
The Students, Traders, Professionals besides the public at large has been badly hit due to the unending blockade of internet services. The students who are largely dependent upon online studies have immensely suffered during the last around four months of internet ban with no signs of its restoration in the near future. Traders have pegged the losses in several hundreds of crores. The Professionals, Bankers, Transporters, Civil Society have all been the sufferers of the ill conceived move with none to listen to the shrill cries of the public. The people of Jammu are hard core nationalists and government's plea that internet will be used for anti national activities is being seen as an insult to the patriotic sentiments of Dogras. The government's version is therefore totally unacceptable.
