JAMMU, Dec 6: Homeguards/Civil Defence J&K today celebrated its 57th Annual Raising Day at UTDRF 2nd Bn. Hqrs. Jammu. SSP I/C DIG Homeguards/Civil Defence Vikas Gupta was the chief guest on the occasion who presided over the function. In his address, he elaborated the need and purpose for creation of Homeguards/Civil Defence to act as first responder of natural and manmade disasters. He also appreciated the role of Homeguards/Civil Defence volunteers during the year 2019 for their dedication and keen interest shown during various rescue operations. On the occasion, the greetings messages received from high dignitaries were read out. Among others SO (Trgs) to ADGP Ranjeet Kanwar, SSP Commandant UTDRF 2nd Bn. Jammu Nisha Nathyal, DSP UTDRF 2nd Bn. Jammu Arvinder Kotwal, SO (Admn) to ADGP Shabir Ahmed, I/C Dy.Controller/Area Commandant Homeguards Jammu Surinder Singh, senior officers of UTDRF, wardens, olunteers of Civil Defence and Homeguards were present on the ocassion. |
