Public grievances being redressed expeditiously: Sharma

JAMMU, Dec 6: Advisor to Lt. Governor, K. K. Sharma today said that the government is expeditiously redressing the public grievances thereby increasing the efficacy and accountability of the departments as well as the executing agencies.
The Advisor was speaking at a public grievance camp held at the convention centre, Jammu, in which over 50 deputations and 85 individuals comprising 450 people came for redressal of their grievances.
The Advisor said that the necessary instructions have been conveyed to the concerned officers for speeding up the implementation of welfare schemes besides also ensuring that the grievances being projected by the people are addressed at the earliest.
The deputations which met the Advisor included contractual teachers appointed in far-flung areas, ReT shortlisted candidates, Education Volunteers, Academic arrangement Lecturers of Higher Education Department, Technical Education Department, College Academic Arrangement Lecturer Association who projected different issues like continuation in their services, operationalization of the ReT empanelled list and other related issues like release of honorariums and conversions in ReT.
The Hostel Wardens and Academic Arrangement Lecturers working in different polytechnics raised the issue of regularization of their services.
Daily Rated workers of PDD department raised the issues of release of wages, regularization of services and also inclusion of the leftovers in the lists being submitted to the Finance Department.
Deputations from Challan-Billawar, Mahore (Rajouri) raised the issues of provision of link roads, new PMGSY roads and also augmentation of electric infra.
All Jammu Hotels and Lodges deputation called for increase in the hotel tariff rate of those rented out to the Estates Department.
Provincial Electric Employees Association of Power Development Department raised several issues related to their service matters.
Deputation from Billawar raised several issues like establishment of University Campus, KV Schools and also upgradation of different middle and high schools in the area.
Besides several individuals which met the Advisor also raised issues relating to Education, R&B, PDD, Planning, Tourism and called for early redressal of their grievances.
The Advisor while interacting with the deputations assured for early redressal of their grievances and said that an effective mechanism has already been put in place for timely disposal of all complaints besides providing feedback on the pace of various developmental initiatives being undertaken.
Later, the Advisor also met deputation of Jammu Traders Association led by its President and Senior Vice President who raised several issues related to the business community.
The Advisor assured them early redressal of the issues projected by them especially the provision of having dedicated IT Centres for filling up of their Income Tax Returns (ITR).
Vice Chancellor, Islamic University of Science and Technology, Prof. Mushtaq Sidiqi also called on the Advisor and discussed several issues related to the new models of education and the structural reforms to be undertaken.
