Early Times Report
JAMMU, Dec 6: During the monthly meeting to review functioning of the Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC), BJP councilors expressed their helplessness before party leadership to execute developmental activities due to 'non-cooperative' attitude of the officers.
After today's meeting, tussle between officers of JMC and BJP councilors is likely to be intensified because both blaming each other of indulged into corrupt practices.
Credible sources said while speaking before the leadership, BJP councilors alleged that officers were unnecessarily creating hurdles in approving developmental projects. They sought green signal from the leadership to "teach" these officers a lesson for not following their directions.
As reported earlier, some officers of the JMC, on the other hand, have charged BJP councilors with the threatening them to approve some non-feasible project just to give undue benefits to their blue-eyed contractors. For the last one month, officers/officials of JMC are at the loggerheads with BJP councilors.
According to official handout issued by the BJP, during monthly meeting, public concerning issues of various departments like PDD, PHE, PWD, Health & Sanitation remained the highlight of the meeting, whereas the meeting also saw the two-way interaction between the party seniors and Councilors for the development works in the city. Councilors highlighted various apprehensions regarding the effective working of the public departments in order to solve the public plights in a better and coordinated way.
Credible sources said that leaders present in the review meeting indirectly gave their nod to party councilors to put pressure on the officers to get 'their' works done by using all powers.
