| Veer Nari Sammelan organised | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Dec 7: Veer Nari Sammelan was organized by Dah Division at Palampur Military Station on to interact with the war widows and provide necessary assistance. A large number of Veer Naris from Palampur and adjoining areas attended the function alongwith their family members. During the event, informative lecture were given on various Government Schemes for the welfare of Veer Naris& their children by the representatives of Dah Division. During the sammelan, a number of stalls were set up to disseminate useful information and extend necessary assistance to the war widows. These included Reception Cell, Grievance Cell and a Medical Camp. The Grievance Cell included the stalls of Defence Pension Disbursement Office (DPDO), State Bank of India, Army Recruitment Office (ARO) and Veteran Sahayata Kendra. The Medical Camp organisedby the Dah Division included various stalls for general health, dental and gynecology check-up. Raj Laxmi Shekhawat, Convenor, Family Welfare Organisation, Dah Division felicitated the Veer Naris for their supreme sacrifice which included special financial assistance as well. Miss Akanksha Rana,daughter of a martyred soldier was also presented with a wheelchair on the occasion.
Towards the end of sammelan, the Chief Guest addressed the gathering and reassured them that the Indian Army will make all possible endeavors to continue its efforts towards providing all possible assistance to the Veer Naris and their children.
