| NDS pays tributes to Lehar | | |  Early Times Report
Katra, Dec 7: Nami Dogri Sanstha paid tributes to Late Sham Sunder Anand Lehar a noted literary personality and renowned legal illuminary of Jammu and Kashmir. Galaxy of poets, writers, artists, journalists, social figures, prominent citizens and literature lovers attended the programme besides his family members.
At the outset the portrait of Lehar was profusely garlanded followed by showering of flowers to pay homage to the departed literary personality. Capt. Lalit Sharma read a detailed paper on the life and literary works of Anand Lehar touching various dimensions of his multi-faceted personality. Born on 2nd July, 1951 at Poonch, Anand Lehar did his B.Sc. from Degree College Poonch and then B.A. Urdu and LLB from Jammu. As Secretary of Poonch College and a ace debator represented the college debating team in and outside the State. As a law student he started vigrous campaign against copying in examinations and the Chief Minister of the time has to impose strict ban on copying in examinations. He practiced in J&K High Court and Supreme Court of India and was President of Jammu Bar Council as well. Was chief patron of Nami Dogri Sanstha and Adabi Kunj the two prominent literary organizations of the State. |
