Chairman, MD NHPC visit projects

Kishtwar, Dec 8: Bal Raj Joshi, Chairman and Managing Director, NHPC Ltd, Sh. Suresh Kumar, IAS(Rtd), Chairman CVPPPL and M.S Babu, Managing Director, CVPPPL, visited Pakal Dul, Kiru, Kwar HE Projects and Dulhasti Power Station on 7 th and 8 th December 2019. Angrej Singh Rana, Dy Commissioner and
Sh Harmeet Singh, SSP, Kishtwar also accompanied them. They were given a warm welcome by
employees of Pakal Dul, Kiru, Kwar HE Projects and Dulhasti Power Station. Joshi inaugurated the
Office Complex Building of Power House of Pakal Dul HE Project. Twenty nos mattresses were handed
over to Distt Hospital, Kishtwar under CSR-CD initiatives of Pakal Dul HE Project.
During their visit, Joshi and Suresh Kumar met with the senior officers of the Company and reviewed the progress of the Projects. M.S Babu, MD CVPPPL has apprised about progress of major construction
works of Power House and Dam of 1000 MW Pakal Dul HE Project. During his address, Joshi
congratulated CVPPPL for starting the construction of prestigious Pakal Dul HE Project, which is going to
benefit the state in many ways. The Pakal Dul HE Project of the Company is of National Importance and is covered under Prime Minister's Development Package (PMDP) for J&K. He stressed the need to achieve the desired targets and appreciated efforts of all employees working in far flung areas and tough climatic conditions. He also appreciated the development initiatives taken by CVPPPL for the Project Affected Families(PAFs) and other residents of the areas.
Chenab Valley Power Projects (CVPPPL) is a joint venture amongst NHPC Ltd. (A Govt of India
Enterprise), JKSPDC (A Govt of JK Undertaking) and PTC Ltd has been entrusted with construction of
three projects viz. Pakal Dul HE Project(1000 MW), Kiru HE Project(624MW) and Kwar HE Project(540
MW) in distt Kishtwar of J&K. The Construction of Pakal Dul HE Project was stared in the year 2018 and is to be completed in 66 months with an estimated cost of Rs 8112.12 Crores. The major work packages of Kiru HE Project are ready for award awaiting approval. All the work packages of Kwar HE Projects are under different stages of tendering. Energy scenario of the region will improve after completion of these projects.
