Sonia prefers Rahul over Priyanka
Kaun Banega Congress Chief?

Early Times Report
Jammu, Dec 9: The Congress party is all set to elect its new president in the next week as Sonia Gandhi's term as interim chief is going to end.
Sonia had token over the reigns of the party after debacle of the Congress in 2019 Parliamentary polls which were fought under the leadership of Rahul Gandhi.
Soon after party lost elections Rahul Gandhi announced that he is no more the president of the grand old party and he has calls it quits. Rahul did not pay any heed to the requests made by the loyalists of the Gandhi family not to quit and maintained that he is no more the Congress president. Rahul remaining adamant led to Sonia taking the charge as interim chief of the party.
According to the media reports, Central Working Committee of the Congress party is all set to meet next week to elect the new president and surprisingly Rahul Gandhi is all set to make a comeback. "Sonia Gandhi has made it clear that Priyanka won't be elevated as the party chief and Rahul is the only choice," a media report said. It said that Sonia has even made it clear to her party leaders that Rahul has to become the Prime Minister of the country and he needs to be groomed for it.
An analyst while talking to Early Times said, "When Rahul Gandhi resigned from the post of the Congress party chief, he had stated that any non-Gandhi can lead the party and his family would welcome it. Just within a span of few months his mind seems to have changed and he is trying to tell the party leaders that only a Gandhi can become the head of grand old party of India."
He said that if Rahul is once again given the charge by his mother it could lead to vertical split in the party as people like senior Congress leaders as Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh have openly opposed Rahul's appointment as AICC chief.
An observer said, "Congress has already paid a heavy price for the immature acts of Rahul and senior leaders of the party don't want him to be elevated to the top position again. Many of them are saying that Sonia should give her daughter Priyanka Gandhi Vadra a chance to lead the party as Rahul has failed in the past. She has got the qualities of a good leader but her mother Sonia seems least interested."
