SVMG organises Dogri folk songs programme

Jammu, Dec 10: Scintillating bonanza of Dogri folk songs performed by young singers marked the promotional program organized by Sur Vandana Musical Group at K L Sehgal Hall, here. Chairman, Team Jammu, Zorawar Singh Jamwal was the chief guest on the occasion while Dr Tarun Singh, Secretary, Youth Hostel Association of India was the guest of honour and Bharat Bhushan, convenor BJP Sanskritik wing was special guest. On the occasion Santosh Bandral's Meri Jind Jammua, Meri Jaan Jammua & Barah Shail Loko, Paare Da Jeena, Sweeta Verma's Rongli Barah, Rajesh Verma's Gouri Di Panjeeb Kude Door Geet Gaa Di and Rajesh Kumar's first ever composition in Dogri Qawaali earned a big applause from the audience. Speaking on the occasion, Chairman, Team Jammu, Zorawar Singh Jamwal appreciated the efforts of Santosh Bandral, president Sur Vandana Musical Group for doing commendable job of popularizing Dogri literature, music and culture. He said the organization with just few years of its existence has done phenomenal service to Dogri literature and language by the most innovative experimentation and giving platform to young Dogri singers. He hoped that these efforts will surely attract the younger generation to Dogri language and literature. While highlighting the music and singing can play a key role in spreading awareness about the ill effects of drug abuse, Chairman Team Jammu, Zorawar Singh Jamwal urged the young artists to become part of Team Jammu's campaign against drug menace and contribute selflessly to the society to save the younger generation from the yoke of drug abuse.
