DP's of 1947 from POK discuss pending issues

KATHUA, Dec 10: A meeting of DP's of 1947 from POK was held at village Keerian Gandyal, Kathua, jointly presided our by Gurdev Singh President Jammu Kashmir Sharnarthi Action Committee (JKSAC) and Bhushan Sharma President District Kathua, wherein several senior members of adjoining areas participated and discussed several issues confronting DP's particularly Disbursal of Relief Package, Mutation of Land under DP's dwelling, adequate compensation in lieu of deficient allotted lands for remaining DP's families, relief package for families having only supplementary records and issuance of order for providing a relief to 5300 families residing outside J&K. The participant appealed to Prime Minister Narindera Modi and Amit Shah, Home Minister, to issue advisory to LT. Governor Garish Chander Murmu to take immediate measures to resolve these micro level issues and redesign a comprehensive road map for the final settlement of DP's taking into account the recommendations of Joint Parliamentary Committee Report on Home Affairs. While interacting with the participants, Gurdev Singh President said that the JKSAC being a historical organisation of DP's is consistently struggling for seeking the full and final rehabilitation of DP's. He said that this organisation is seized of all the said issues and is committed not to take rest until and unless the same are not resolved as per the legitimate aspirations of DP's. He asked the participants to highlight the said issues among the DP's in order to make administration responsive for their redressal.
