Sanjay Pathak elected as president of Press Club Kathua

KATHUA, Dec 10: In a closely-contested election, the district correspondent of The Tribune Newspaper Sanjay Pathak was today elected as new President of Press Club of Kathua.
The results of elections, which remained peaceful and smooth, were announced by the Returning Officer Taranjeet Singh in the presence of Assistant Returning Officer Raj Kumar.
The elections for various posts in Kathua Press Club were conducted at Irrigation Rest House today. The polling was held from 11 am to 1 pm. There were a total of 37 members who had the voting rights to elect the new team for Press Club Kathua out of which 35 votes were polled.
For the post of President, Sanjay Pathak defeated his rival Sarabjeet Singh Shunty by a margin of single vote.
For the post of Secretary, Harpreet Singh Sethi, after getting 19 votes, defeated his rival Aditya Krishan by a margin of three votes. Similarly, Prabhu Dayal trounced his opponent Shishan Kumar by a margin of just three votes.while Raj Kumar, who was polled 20 votes, defeated his opponent Charanjeet Singh by a margin of five votes.
Whereas Manuj Kesar was elected unopposed as new chairman of the Club and Mohon Sharma as Joint Sectery
Speaking on the occasion, newly elected president Sanjay Pathak thanked all the members of the Press club and exuded confidence that he would work tirelessely to safeguard the journalistic ethics and the community's interests. He further said that he would voiceferously raised the issues of journalist fraternity of Kathua before the respective quarters for their redressal.
