| Dwivedi reviews Integrated Child Protection Scheme | | |

JAMMU, Dec 10: Commissioner Secretary Forest, Ecology & Environment and Social Welfare Department, Manoj Kumar Dwivedi, today chaired a meeting to review the status of Integrated Child Protection Scheme (ICPS).
The meeting was attended by Director General Women and Child Development , Mir Tariq Ali; Director Planning Social Welfare department, Omera Shafat; Additional Secretary Social Welfare Department, Niraj Kumar and other concerned officials of the department.
Commissioner Secretary had overall review of ICPS besides taking stock of working of Observation homes, Special Homes, Child Welfare Committees and the staff position of these vital units of ICPS. Commissioner Secretary was informed that two Observation homes, one at Harvan, Srinagar and other at RS Pura Jammu are already functional while as two new observation homes will be established at Anantnag and Baramulla. He was further informed that additional observation homes will be set up at Udhampur, Rajouri and Doda in the coming days.
Dwivedi exhorted upon the officials to expedite work on all the languishing projects and complete them timely.
Dwivedi impressed upon the officials to submit the Utilization Certificates of all the completed projects in a week's time.
Commissioner Secretary further instructed the officials to devise a proper media plan in coordination with Information Department for initiating a media campaign for creating mass awareness among the people regarding various welfare measures being implemented and provided through ICPS. |
