Early Times Report

Poonch, Dec 10: Junior Engineers in Rural Development Department Rajouri have been given additional blocks to supervise the development works being carried out under MG-NREGA due to which no accountability and quality of work is being monitored properly.
Sources told Early Times that two Junior Engineers in MG-NREGA in district Rajouri have been given additional bocks, apart from their assigned blocks which has created total mess in these blocks as no proper check is being kept which has ultimately given rise to poor quality of work. "A JE has been given three blocks including Poonch, Mandi and Loran and there are 15-16 panchayats in one blocks and the total of panchayats in three blocks go up to 36 panchayats which is almost impossible to the supervise the working in all these blocks by one JE resulting putting them overburdened. Similarly another JE has been assigned two blocks including Nagali and Sathra. No accountability and quality of work going on in these blocks is being monitored," they said.
They said that the Technical Assistants in the RDD Department, who also have same qualification of Junior Engineer, can be deployed in above mentioned blocks so that work should run smoothly as it is difficult for a JE to look after three blocks at time.
