Udhampur, Dec 10: : A Resident of Larry-I tehsil Chenani of district Udhampur has allegedly received an electricity bill of Rs 1,35098 and is running from pillar to post for getting it rectified but to no avail. Moreover, adding to his woes, the electricity department has also warned the family that theirconnection will be cut if they fail to pay the bill.
Rano said that , she was shocked to see the amount, and alleged that "No one listens to our pleas, how will we submit that amount? "I am running from pillar to post but no one is listening. It seems that the electricity department wants me to pay the bill of whole Udhampur.
She added "We have only one bulb . How can the amount be so high?" she asks "We are poor, how we will pay such large amount," she rued. She added that she is a Poor Lady and four year ago her Husband died now she is working as labourer in houses some time in farms of farmers to earn livelihood for his son, son's wife and his four kids.
XEn Power Development Department Udhampur Rajinder Gupta while talking to Early Times said that he will get confirmed from Sub Division Chenani as per the server record on July 2011 the bill balance was sixteen thousand and two hundred seventy Seven rupees and till date said family never deposit any Bill.
