| 10 years on, defunct street lights greets people during night | | |

Mendhar, Dec 10: The street lights in Mendhar town have been lying defunct since last nearly ten years and the concerned agencies (RDD and Panchayat Deptt have so far failed to get them repaired.
A local alleged that about a dozen large flood lights were installed at main points in the main market some time back by the agency but for the last ten years, all of these lights are lying out of order.
Panchayat Deptt which is responsible for cleanliness and street lights in the town has failed to get them repaired or replaced, other people said, adding that traders and general people of the town are facing problems due to it and due to darkness during nights several thefts have taken place in last one year. They demanded that street lights be restored in the town. |
