Advisor Sharma reviews establishment of new Industrial Estates in J&K

JAMMU, Dec 11: Advisor to Lieutenant Governor, KK Sharma, today directed the concerned officers to make available suitable and sufficient land for setting up new industrial estates for the prospective entrepreneurs.
The Advisor was speaking at a review meeting convened to discuss the acquisition of land for the industrial estates in J&K.
The meeting was attended by Principal Secretary Industries and Commerce, Naveen K Choudhary; Secretary Revenue, Abdul Majeed Bhat; Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Sanjeev Verma.
Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Baseer Ahmad Khan; Director Industries Kashmir and Deputy Commissioners participated in the meeting through video conferencing.
The meeting was also attended by Director Industries Jammu, Director Handicrafts Development Department, MDs of JK Industries and Handicraft Development Corporation.
The Advisor underlined the need for taking necessary measures for identification of the land for setting up of industrial estates so that it can be provided to the entrepreneurs, who are willing to set up industries.
"Development of more Industrial estates will go a long way in boosting the industrial scenario in JK and generating employment opportunities and contributing to the local economy" the Advisor maintained.
Principal Secretary I&C, Naveen K Choudhary briefed the meeting about the steps being taken for identification of the land for industrial estates in the Union territory of J&K. He said that necessary instructions stand passed to the officers for speeding up the process and making land available for industrial use.
The Div Commissioner Kashmir informed that the process of identification of the land has already been started and a large chunk of land has been made available. He said roughly 1.20 lakh Kanal of land has been identified and the deputy commissioners asked to speed-up the process of acquiring it.
The Div Commissioner Jammu said that deputy commissioners have been directed to constitute teams for identification of land. He informed the meeting that roughly 3. 40 lakh Kanal land has been identified in different districts of Jammu division.
