Hakla highlights demands of Gujjar Bakarwal of J&K

POONCH, Dec 10: Shamsher Hakla Poonchi the prominent Muslim Gujjar leader and an intellectual of J&K demanded to Govt of India to establish tribal developmental council in J&K with the financial and developmental power for development and welfare of Gujjar Bakarwal tribe. He further demanded to Govt of India to sanction special package for the permanent settlement of nomadic Gujjar Bakarwals people of J&K.
Shamsher Hakla Poonchi urged to Govt of India for the establishment of Tribal University in Jammu and Kashmir for all the Gujjar Bakarwal students.
Hakla also demanded to Govt of India for sanctioning the special package for providing of basic facilities of life like road communication, electricity, water supply schemes, medical facilities and educational facilities in the areas that are inhabited by Gujjars Bakarwals in J&K.
He also demanded to Govt of India for establishment of Boarding Schools on the pattern of Navodya Vidyalaya for Gujjar Bakarwal Boys & Girls in all Twenty (20) districts of J&K.
Hakla also appealed to the Govt of India for including Gojri language in the 8th Schedule of the constitution of India. This would ensure the development and spread of Gojri language.
Hakla appealed to the Govt of India to conduct a special survey for finding the exact population of Gujjar Bakarwal Tribe in Jammu and Kashmir. In the past also, census were conducted by Government during 2001 & 2011 in summer season but during that time, some of the Gujjar Bakarwals along with their families and livestock moves towards the hilly mountains (Dhoks) of J&K state and because of this reason, those census could not clearly describe the exact population of Gujjars Bakarwals in J&K.
