5 years on, flash flood victim yet to get house under PMAY

rajouri, Dec 11: A resident of village Rajdhani of block Manjakote of district Rajouri , who lost his house in flash flood in 2014, has been awaiting financial assistance under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojna even after the lapse of 5 years.
Narrating his woes, the victim Khadim Hussain (50), who is financially very poor told Early Times that his house was collapsed due to heavy rains fall in the State in 2014, which left his family roofless. Presently he has been living with his family including children, and old aged mother (85), in a temporally shed whose roof is covered with tin sheets and during this cold season, it is difficult to the spend night for the entire family.
"When my house collapsed, the revenue officials including Tehsildar, Patwari came to assess the los and assured that he would get a house under PMAY but despite giving number visits to the concerned department, the nothing has been done till date," he said further adding that not only this he also lost his cattle which were the source of income of his livelihood.
He appealed to Lieutenant Governor to look into the matter and urged him to direct the concerned department so that house under PMAY which was sanctioned to him be constructed at the earliest
