| Annual Sports, Academic & Cultural Meet inaugurated at ASCOMS | | |  Early times Report
Jammu, Dec 12: A four- day Annual Sports, Academic and Cultural (SAC) meet was inaugurated at Acharya Shri Chander College of Medical Sciences jointly by Dr. Arvind Khajuria, acting Director Principal and Dr.Ravinder K. Gupta, Prof & Head Paediatrics and Vice Chairman Sports & Cultural Activities in presence of faculty members, staff and students. The first event was Tug of War between staff members and students. Both female and male faculty members won the match comprehensively. A friendly cricket match between the staff and student was also organized in which the staff scored a mammoth total of 249 runs for five wickets in 20 overs. Dr. Ravinder K. Gupta , Dr. Rajesh Gupta, Dr. Satyankar Gupta, Dr. Ajay Puri and Dr. Vikas Sharma scored 58, 51, 50, 44 and 25 runs respectively. The students could score only 43 runs in five overs and the match had to be stopped due to sudden rain. Teachers were declared winner on D/L rule. During the course of the meet, various cultural, sports and academic events will be organized .The meet will end with a cultural function by the 1st Year MBBS students of the college on 14th December 2019. |
