JAMMU, Dec 12: Agriculture Department organized a function to pay tributes to Bawa Jitto at Krishi Bhawan, Talab Tillo, Jammu. The programme is organized every year jointly by the Agriculture Officers Association, All J & K Agriculture Employees Association, Drivers Union and staff of the Directorate of Agriculture. Director Agriculture, Inder Jeet recalled Baba Jitto's supreme sacrifice for the farming community. He said that all of us should get inspiration from his life and work to contribute for the betterment of farming community. Deputy Director (Central), Jammu, Ravinder Thaploo Assistant Director Law Enforcement, Jammu, A. H. Salaria, Farm Management Specialist, Deepak Kumar, SCA (I&P), Sandeep Dogra, Uttam Sharma, President, All J & K Agriculture Employees Association Jammu, members of Driver Union and many other officers of the department participated in the programme. It is pertinent to mention that, Shri Bawa Jitto (Baba Jit Mal Dev ji Maharaj) - was a legendary saint farmer of the area who made his supreme sacrifice about 650 years ago for rights and justice of the farmers.
A special adoration and worship was performed on the occasion which was followed by distribution of prasad and bhandara. |
