Jammu, Dec 12: The migrant flats for Kashmiri Pandits at Jagati Nagrota are in dilapidated conditions, which have not been repaired since long time due to apathy of concerned officials, who always ignored the plight of the migrants.
Sources told Early Times that hundreds of flats were constructed by the government for proper settlement of Kashmiri Pandits, who had to migrate from Kashmir region due to militancy nearly four decades ago.
"The plaster of walls of majority of the flats has been crumbling and need urgent repair but despite repeated complaints to the concerned department nothing has been done to fix it due to which residents have been facing huge inconvenience," they said further adding that the building has been facing severe damage due to water, and walls are cracking which will aggravate the situation in coming days if preventive measures were not taken soon. |
