VIJAYPUR, Dec 13: The mortal remains of Havaldar Tarsem Lal Manotra, who died in Sudan on December 7 after a brief illness, were cremated with full military honours at his natives town in Vijaypur today.
Earlier, the mortal remains of Havaldar Tarsem Lal, were received by Major Pankaj Kumar, 20 JAK RIF INF BN GP, his family members and prominent citizens of Samba district after being brought to his native town Vijaypur.
The people gathered paid floral tributes to the deceased jawan. As a mark of respect and to pay their homage to Havaldar Tarsem Lal, the main markets in the town remained closed.
Later, the mortal remains of the martyr consigned to flames with full military honour. The funeral pyre was lit collectively by his son, brother and daughters. He is survived by mother, father, wife, son and daughter. |
