| ARTO Rajouri conducts checking, recovers Rs 66000 fine | | | Early times Report
Rajouri, Dec 13: Going tough against violation of traffic rules,the Assistant Regional Transport Officer (ARTO) Rajouri,Inzar Ahmed Rana along with staff and inspector on Friday conducted checking of vehicles on Jammu Poonch Highway near Rajal and charged fine from violators. During the inspection of vehicles, the team found various vehicles of violating norms and rules related to licenses, an official said."Besides two overloaded vehicles were fined and an amount of rupees 66000 was realised as fine for overloading," he added.
ARTO Rajouri said that traffic rules are meant for the safety of the people and people are supposed to follow these rules.He also said that fines are increased many times but this increase in the fine is not to punish people but to make them follow the traffic rules and implement the traffic laws in their lifestyles.
He urged upon the drivers to follow some golden rules of safe driving which include using a seat belt, not to over-speed, keeping the vehicle fit,avoid using a phone while driving and be sober on road.He also sensitized the drivers and cleaners about their roles in ensuring road safety. |
