DPS Nagbani holds Word Building Competition

Jammu, Dec 13: An Inter-Class word building competition was held in DPS Nagbani today with a view to enhance the knowledge of the students to form new words. Building Words activitiy is an alternative to traditional random memorizations of words exercises. These activities are fun, innovative and interesting enough to keep the students engaged with words. Word building activities help the students build vocabulary, improve spellings and synthesis words. These literacy based word building activities allow the students to formulate words. The students from classes IV and V took enthusiastic part in it. They all showcased amazing talent while building new words. After a nail biting competition, the winners were announced. The prizes were bagged by Mishika Raina 1st position, Veer vikram Singh Aaditya Kakkar 2nd position, Aadvik Raina 3rd position of class IV, while Anirudh Vikram Singh Bisht won 1st position, Daiwik Sharma 2nd position and Karthik Bhat 3rd position from class V. The Principal of the school R. K. Verma awarded the winners and said that knowledge of words is one of the most crucial aspects of language learning and acquisition. Students who acquire an extensive vocabulary tend to learn more quickly, express themselves better and think more deeply than their peers.
