| Horticulture Department concludes Mass Awareness Week | | |

JAMMU, Dec 14: Mass Awareness Week organised by Department of Horticulture concluded today in which all the districts in Jammu division were covered so that the benefits of various schemes can reach at the doorsteps of the farmers. During the week, 33 Farmers' Awareness Camps were organized at Horticulture Zones in all the Districts in which 3912 progressive orchardists/farmers and PRI members participated.
Farmers were advised to adopt modern technologies in the field of horticulture like high density plantation, mechanization to boost their production. They were also asked to get the quality planting material from the accredited fruit plant nurseries preferably from the departmental nurseries.
All the participants were asked to avail the benefits of departmental schemes so that they can shift from the subsistence to the commercial farming for upliftment of their socio-economic status. |
