DLSA Jammu organises National Lok Adalat, settles 1719 cases

JAMMU, Dec 14: District Legal Services Authority Jammu today held National Lok Adalat in the District Court Complex Janipur under the Chairmanship of Pr. District & Sessions Judge R.K Wattal who is also the Chairman DLSA and supervision of Secretary DLSA Naushad Ahmed Khan.
A total number of ten benches were constituted at District Court Complex. Jammu.
The first bench was presided over by Rajesh Sekhri, Spl. Judge Anti-corruption, CBI Cases Jammu and assisted by Kikar Singh Parihar, Presiding Officer, MACT Jammu, Tahir Khursheed Raina, Addl. District & Sessions Judge Jammu dealt with MACT Cases/Consumer Cases.
The second Bench was presided over by Nighat Sultana, Addl. District Jude, Bank cases, Jammu and assisted by Virinder Singh Bhou, 2nd Addl. District & Sessions Judge Jammu dealt with Bank Cases.
The third Bench was headed by Kalpana Revo, Addl. District Judge Matrimonial Cases Jammu and assisted by C.L. Bavoria, Spl. Judge Anticorruption Jammu dealt with Matrimonial Cases.
The fourth Bench was headed by Deepak Sethi, Chief Judicial Magistrate Jammu ad assisted by Prem Sagar, City Judge. Jammu dealt with cases u/s 138 NI Act, Civil Cases and Cr. Compoundable offences.
The fifth Bench was headed by Surjeet Singh Bali Sub-judge Spl Mobile Magistrate Jammu and assisted by O.P Bhagat, Municipal Magistrate. Jammu.
The sixth bench was presided over by Rajni Sharma, Spl. Excise Magistrate Jammu and assisted by Smriti Sharma, Sub-Registrar Jammu and Rajni Bhagat, 3rd Addl. Munsiff, Jammu dealt with Excise Cases and Civil Cases.
The seventh Bench was headed by Pawan Sharma Sub-Judge Jammu and assisted by Preet Simian Kour, Munsiff Jammu, dealt with Criminal Compoundable and Petty Criminal offences cases.
The eighth Bench was headed by Sudesh Sharma, Sub/Judge Electricity Magistrate Jammu and assisted by Shabnam Sheikh, Forest Magistrate Jammu, dealt with Electricity, Water and Passenger tax Cases.
The ninth Bench comprised of Sandeep Gandotra, Special Mobile Magistrate, Passenger Tax Jammu and Parvez Iqbal, Railway Magistrate Jammu dealt with cases related to Passenger Tax, Railway Cases and Civil cases of all nature.
The tenth Bench comprised of Dinesh Gupta, Spl Mobile Magistrate, Traffic Jammu, Slahuddin Ahmed, Addl Mobile Magistrate Traffic Jammu and Jeevan Kumar, 2nd Additional Munsiff Jammu dealt with cases related to Traffic matters and Petty Offences.
A total number of 1948 eases were taken up, out of which 1719 cases have been settled. A total of Rs. 51251595 was settled in the Lok Adalat.
Similar, Lok Adalat Benches were also constituted at Tehsil headquarters at Akhnoor, Bishnah and R.S. Pura which were presided over by respective Chairman Tehsil Legal Services Committees.
