12/14/2019 9:46:35 PM
Early Times Report
Jammu, Dec 14: Former MP and Chairman DSSP while addressing meeting of party workers at Jammu today lamented on the pathetic conditions of the Farmers of Jammu who are shocked on the incessant rains leaving all their crops totally perished. The Farmers of the Jammu region is in the crisis and badly suffered both at the hands of the nature and the administration which is the mute spectator and have not bothered about the issues confronted by this hapless community, said Ch.Lal Singh.
Lal Singh further said that the paddy of the Farmers, which was lying in the procurement centres of the Government for want of packaging materials, also perished due to heavy rainfall and the procurement agencies are not taking responsibility of the said crop ,which is adding to the woes of the Farmers who are totally helpless. The present incessant rain has further turned them totally in dark as their is hardly any scope left for wheat crop also. DSSP hence seeks a special package for the Farmers of Jammu on the same analogy as has been done for the apple growers of Kashmir. Ch.Lal Singh expressed his solidarity with the Bar Association and said that the Government have not done justice with them which is not a healthy sign of a democratic state. He also appealed to the Chei Justice of High Court to reconsider the contempt proceedings against the striking lawyers .
Earlier Dr.Hari Dutt Shishu, General secretary of the DSSP while introducing the agenda of the meeting said that Jammu is passing through a very crucial time and all the stakeholders of Jammu including social organisations, political organisations ,religious groups, students organization must come on one platform and resolve unanimously to fight for the cause of Jammu otherwise the cultural identity of Dogras is under threat. Prominent among others who participated in the meeting included Kamal Saini,Retd.IGP, Prof.H.R Sharma, Advocate BS Jamwal, Advocate Vikrant, Mrs Suman Wazir, Anoop Biloria,Jatinder papu,Col .J P Singh, Captain Azam Khan,Dhian Singh, Balbir Singh Azad, corporator Ashok Sharma etc.
