Census 2021; NPR updation: 6-day training programme concludes at IMPARD

JAMMU, Dec 14: The six day training programme on Census of India -2021 and up-dation of National Population Register (NPR) concluded, here today.
The training was organised by Jammu and Kashmir Institute of Management, Public Administration & Rural Development (IMPARD) in collaboration with the Directorate of Census Operations Jammu and Kashmir from 9th to 14th December, 2019 under the supervision of Director General, J&K IMPARD, Dr Farooq Ahmed Lone and Director, Directorate of Census operation J&K and Ladakh, G Prasanna Ramaswamy. Former Additional Registrar General from office of Registrar General of India, New Delhi, Deepak Rastogi, was the chief guest at the valedictory function. In his address, Rastogi highlighted the methodology, objectives and implementation process and outlined the role and responsibilities of the field trainers in census operation. He also threw light on the legal framework of the programme. He termed the field trainers as the backbone of the programme and emphasised on the application of mobile app for data capturing in the first phase of census 2021 i.e. house listing operation and updation of NPR.
Director Training, IMPARD Jammu, Prof. Reva Sharma said that Indian census enjoys the reputation of being one of the best census in the world. She said that first census in India was conducted in 1872 and the present census will be 16th census in India, which shall be carried through missionary zeal by enumerators and supervisors and will form the data base for policy formulation and planning execution in future.
Prof. Sharma congratulated the Master trainers and National Trainers, Dheeraj Johar, Prof Jyoti Sadhu of Jammu and Manmeet Singh, Bilal Ahmed Bhat from Kashmir for conducting the training programme successfully.
Director General, Planning and Monitoring Department, Shazada Bilal Ahmed urged the trainees to percolate down the Census process to the filed trainers.
