222 cases settled at Kishtwar National Lok Adalat

Kishtwar, Dec14: District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) in collaboration with Tehsil Legal Services Committee Kishtwar organized a National Lok Adalat today in the District Court Complex Kishtwar, under the Chairmanship of Principal District and Sessions Judge Kishtwar, Sham Lal Lalhal for the settlement of the cases referred by different Courts of District Kishtwar.
Two benches conducted the National Lok Adalat. The first Bench was consisted of Principal District and Sessions Judge kishtwar and Touqeer Mushtaq, Advocate kishtwar.
The Second bench was consisted of Munish K. Manhas Munsiff/JMIC Kishtwar and Suman Bhandari Advocate.
A total of 363 cases were referred to National Lok Adalat, out of which 266 cases were amicably settled and an amount of Rs.1,41,85,300 was awared to the parties in MACT cases, Labour disputes, Civil Cases and Traffic Challan.
The members of Bar Association Kishtwar and public at large participated in the National Lok Adalat.
Sham Lal Lalhal, Pr. District & Sessions Judge-cum- Chairman, District Legal Services Authority, Kishtwar and Munish K. Manhas Munsiff JMIC Kishtwar thanked the generall public for making this Lok Adalat a success and further appealed the public to resolve their disputes through the Lok Adalats as it provides quick and economical justice. It also saves the valuable time, money and energy of the litigants.
Every award of the Lok Adalat is final and no appeal shall lie to any court against the award passed by the Lok Adalat.
