Jammu, Dec 15: With the technical and advisory support from KVK-Leh, Ladakh Environment and Health Organization (LEHO) organized a training programme on Vermi compost production at village Spituk in district Leh of Ladakh region.
The programme was attended by many farm women of the region. Tashi Tokhmet Deputy Director, LEHO in his welcome address spoke about the various activities of LEHO in promoting sustainable development of the Ladakh region. Dr. Parveen Kumar, Subject Mater Specialist (Ag. Extension) KVK-Leh was the resource person in the programme.
Dr. Kumar presented a detailed lecture on the need for organic farming and the Mission Organic Development Initiative (MODI) of Leh.
On this occasion Vermi beds were also distributed among the farm women from different villages of Leh district. Dr. Skalzang Dorjey, Chairman of the Block Development Council Spituk was also present on the occasion. He appreciated the efforts of LEHO and KVK-Leh for making available their scientific men power to upgrade the skill of the farming community.
