KATHUA, Dec 15: Deputy Commissioner, O P Bhagat along with team of officers today conducted an extensive tour to the snow affected areas of Bani and took stock of snow clearance, connectivity, restoration of power and water supply, availability of ration and other essential commodities in the area.
During the tour, DC personally monitored the restoration of traffic on Basholi-Bani road where the movement of vehicles was restricted after snow fall and landslides at Gair, Dramani, Siani, Beacon and other adjacent places. He directed the concerned officers of BRO, GREF and PWD department to gear up the men and machinery to clear snow all the roads for hassle free traffic movement.
He also divulged that District Administration shall make all out efforts to restore the power as well as water supply in the area which got hampered due to snow fall in the area.
Meanwhile, the DC also paid a visit to the houses damages due to heavy rainfall recently in Billawar area and assured the affected families that they would be provided adequate compensation for their loss by the district administration and Red Cross society.
Among others ADC Basholi T R Thapa, ACR Joginder Paul, Tehsildar Bani Engineers of PWD, BRO and GREF besides other concerned officers were present on the occasion. |
