Raman Suri urged Government to widen Mahamaya temple road

Jammu, Dec 15: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) State Executive Member Raman Suri today said that the road to Mahamaya Temple, where Cable car project is also awaiting tourists influx, is in the most dilapidated condition and needs immediate widening besides black-topping.
The the temple is visited by a number of devotees but they get pained to see the condition of the road from the highway right up to the temple.
Raman Suri visited the temple today along with members of the Tourism Federation. They sought the blessings of Maa Mahamaya. Witnessing the deteriorated condition of the road, Raman Suri talked to the temple authorities, the pilgrims and the prasad-selling local shop owners in the vicinity of the temple area regarding the position of development of the area and the temple. They apprised Raman Suri that a huge number of devotees visit the temple but the connecting road from the highway to the temple is ruining day by day, thereby affecting the approach to the temple.
Raman Suri urged the government to widen the road and also make it driving worthy so that pilgrims, tourists and local people of the area besides those desirous of taking cable car rides could reach their destinations comfortably. "This place is very peaceful, away from the city pollution and adds to the scenic beauty of Jammu. Entire Jammu city can be seen from this place. Negligence of this beautiful temple is causing huge inconvenience to the people", he added.
