Sainik School Nagrota organizes ex-students meet

Jammu, Dec 15: The Ex-students meet of Sainik School Nagrota was organised at the School Auditorium on 15 Dec 2019.
The annual get-together witnessed a large number of alumni of the school turning up to relive the most memorable moments of their seven years stay in the school.
The alumni observed two minutes silence to pay homage to the fallen Nagrotian souls and began the programme with the recital of the school song "In the shadow of the mighty hills". Further, the cadets presented a cultural programme for the guests and families which included a group song, a Nukkad Natak on Swachh Bharat, Orchestra and a dance sequence on the patriotic song 'Jai Ho'. Maj Gen Ramesh Raina from the first batch of the school graciously presented a trophy to the Inter-house Cross Country Champions for the year 2019 to the Chenab House. In his address to the large gathering, the officer mentioned that the trophy has been instituted to motivate the cadets to develop their stamina, power of endurance and competitive spirit which are the pre-requisites to join Armed Forces. The 1987-94 batch commemorated Silver Jubilee year since passing out from the school and to mark this occasion, they presented cash awards to Cadet Akash Thakur - Best Cadet in Class XII, Cadet Sunny Deol - Best Cadet in Class X and Cadet Manish Kumar - Cadet of the year 2019. In addition, they also presented a memorabilia to the school. Subsequently, Lt Col Pawan, Offg Principal of the school addressed the gathering and outlined the plan prepared by the school to celebrate the Golden Jubilee Year of the school which include Blood Donation Camp, Half Marathon etc. He also appealed the alumni to take part in the Golden Jubilee School Raising Day Celebration in August 2020 in large numbers and make it a grand success.
Following a sumptuous lunch, the ex-students also took this opportunity to show their families, the various facilities of the school.
