Awareness programme on AB-PMJAY organised

Jammu, Dec 23: Health Agency, J&K organized 4days workshop with various Skill Development Centers and Govt Hr. Secondary Schools for creating awareness amongst youth about AB-PMJAY. More than 1000 youth participated in the workshops spanned over 4 days in Jammu district.
The workshops in the Skill Development Centers were conducted in the collaboration with J&K SRLM. "The response by the participant trainees was overwhelming," said Bhupinder Kumar Chief Executive officer State Health Agency, J&K. He further stated that SHA, J&K shall target all the Skill Development Centers in a phased manner to create awareness amongst potential beneficiaries of the scheme. Ayushman Bharat-Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojna (AB-PMJAY) has completed 1 year since its launch. In the last 1 year, it has reached out to nearly 11.36 Lakh beneficiaries who have received their Golden cards and more than 50000 cases were treated for serious illness across the UT.the the main aim of the scheme is to reduce out of pocket expenditure on healthcare. About 57% of these admissions happened in private hospitals. As on date, 155 Hospitals are empanelled in the State out of which 126 (81%) are Govt. hospitals and 29 (19%) are private.
