Road & Safety Deptt registers win & enters in semifinal

Jammu, Jan. 1: Road & Safety department Cricket Club registered an empathetic win against New Rising Cricket Club and entered in the Semifinal of the ongoing "AOI Christmas T20 Cricket Championship" which is being jointly organized by Christian Fellowship Trust Jammu, Christian Sports Organization Jammu and supported by American Oncology Institute, Horizon Group of Companies, KC Sports Club & Parade Sports Association Jammu. The co sponsors of the championship are South Indian Bank, Federal Bank Jammu, Mahajan Special Rice Jammu and Vivo. The slogan of the Championship is "Be Healthy- Don't Do Drugs" and The main objective of the championship is to involve the youths in sports so that they may not involve in drugs and can live a healthy life.
The member of the organizing committee includes Rajesh Gill, Asif Gill, Arjun Choudhary, David Mattoo, Edwin Khokher, Grifan Gill, Vijay Saberwal, Harsh Nayar, Sudhir Singh, Sunil Sambyal, Anand Tripathi, Sunny Gill, Victor Sotra, Caben, Justina Victor. Whereas the championship shall be organized under the overall supervision of Fr. Kuriakose President Christian Fellowship trust Jammu and Rajesh Gill Former Ranji Player.
In the second Quarter final match Road & Safety department Club defeated New Rising Cricket Club by 6 wickets. Batting first New Rising Cricket Club scored 143 runs for 7 wickets in the allotted 18 overs with Sunny 42 , Dimple 31 and Kannav 27 runs. From bowling side RK Bhat, Asif, Dinesh, Vinay and Mohd.Asif took 1 wicket each. In reply Road & Safety chased the target in the 15.2 overs by losing 4 wickets thus won the match by 6 wickets. Istiaq scored unbeaten 74 runs and Yasir 38 runs were the main scorers. From bowling side Kavit took 2 wickets while Sunny and Ashu took 1 wicket each. Ishtiaq was adjudged as Man of the Match.
In the another Quarter Final match lakshmi Cricket Club defeated Champions Cricket Club by 5 wickets.
Batting first Champions Cricket Club scored 96 runs for the loss of all wickets in the allotted 16 overs with Mohit 45 runs and Sourav Sharma 15 were the main scorers. From bowling side Santbaksh and Rocky took 4 wickets each while Tapan took 1 wicket. In reply Lakshmi Cricket chased the target in 13.2 overs by losing 5 wickets thus won the match by 5 wickets. Pardeep Bali 38,Vinayak 26 and Rohan 12 runs were the main scorers. From bowling side Bhannu took 2 wickets while Anchal, Rohit and Sachin took 1 wicket each. Rocky declared man of the match.
In today's Matches RK Bhat SSP was the Chief Guest. While Speaking the Chief Guest appreciated the Christian fellowship Trust and Christian Sports Org. Jammu for conducting mega cricket tournament annually on the occasion of Christmas. He also interacted with the participating players of all teams and conveyed his best wishes to them in their future career.
