Prakash Purab of Guru Gobind Singh celebrated at Jammu

Jammu, Jan 2: Parkash Purab of Guru Gobind Singh, the Sirjanhaar of Khalsa Panth was celebrated today at Gurdwara yadgaar, Guru Nanak Devji Chand Nagar Jammu with religious fervour and gaiety.
The function was organized by District Gurdwara parbandhak committee Jammu, where devotees from different parts of state including women and children participated in large numbers, to pay obeisance and to seek blessings of Guru Sahib.
The speakers threw light on the life and teachings of Guru Gobind Singh, describing him a saint soldier and a Poet who took Sword to fight against the oppression and infused martial spirit in the people by soul inspiring heroic poetry. On the auspicious day resolutions highlighting social and political problems faced by the Minority Sikh community in the state were presented. The resolutions were presented by Jathedar Mohinder Singh member DGPC and President Shiromani Akali Dal ( Badal ) J&K, seconded by Ramnik Singh Member DGPC and were approved by the Sangat amidst Chanting Jaikaras of Bole- so- Nihaal, Sat- Sri-Akal.
S. T. S. Wazir, Ex MLC and Chairman State Gurdwara Parbandhak Board while addressing the gathering, greeted the Sangat and urged the Governor s administration to fulfill the legitimate demands of the Minority Sikh community.
He called upon the Sikh masses particularly youth to become Amritdhari( Baptised) as per the code or law instituted by the great Guru for his followers. Mahant Manjeet Singh Ji, Mukhi, Shiromani Dera Nangali Sahib Poonch and Sant Tejwant Singh Ji, Mukhi Dera Santpura Danna, Nanak Nagar, Jammu were also present on the occasion and threw light on the life and teachings of Sri Guru Gobind Singhj Ji.
