Railway workers at Reasi working like bonded labours alleges Shiv Sena leaders

JAMMU, Jan 13: Leaders of Shiv Sena Bala Sahib Thackrey J&K Manish Sahni on Monday alleged that workers of some railway projects that are undergoing at Reasi are working like bonded labourers.
Leaders of Shiv Sena Bala Sahib Thackrey J&K under the leadership of Manish Sahni visited village Khanikot in district Reasi and met the skilled and unskilled employees working in the ongoing railway project and heard their problems.
Manish Sahni said that he was very surprised that even today, forcible work is being done like terror-bonded and bonded labourers.
Sahni said that about 300 employees who met him told that with the connivance of the administration, an atmosphere of terror was created and they were intimidated. Forcible work is done for 12-14 hours without giving overtime, not even a single holiday is given in the week and the process of bullying the voices and showing the way out begins.
These people said that the complete information about the injustice done to them was given to the ADC, Reasi and Police Administration, but the administration did nothing to get them out of the trouble alleges Sahni,.
Sahni said that the former sarpanch of the area, Hukam Singh, told him that the poor and helpless people of the area have not been given compensation despite the company authorizing the land.
Manish Sahni alleged that employees also some mobile recording in which some high officials of the company are threatening labours to join a union with the name of even the Honorable Lt. Governor.
Sahni assured the people present that he will plead with the higher officials of police and administration to look into the matter and do something for the labours.
