Residents' Welfare Committee Gole calls on VC JDA

JAMMU, Jan 17: A large number of residents of Gole (Ward 32) Jammu West led by Harcharan Singh, Chairman called on Vice Chairman, Jammu Development Authority and apprised him of the unrest created by the corrigendum dated 4 January 2020 with respect to notification of land acquisition for Establishment of Satellite Colony under Smart City Mission vide No :- JDA/CLA/442-449 dated 14 December 2018. A deputation of the residents pointed out to the Vice Chairman that they have been residing since decades in their houses constructed on the land mentioned in the said khasras and have registered papers and mutations of the land in the revenue records which have been purchased or alloted by the Govt. The land under the title has been shown to be that of Mahajreen or state land which is not correct. In the previous notification the land to be acquisitioned was marked as private land. The VC told that the private land being shown as that of Mahajreen or state land is to invite objections from the owners. whatever land the Govt will acquire will be duly compensated for which at present there are no funds. The residents should file individual objections mentioning their Khasra number and area. Prominent among those in the deputation included Vikas Sharma, Trilok Singh, Balwinder Singh.
