19 two-wheelers driven by minors seized in Rajouri, 79 challaned

Rajouri, Jan 17: Jammu and Kashmir police on Friday seized nineteen two wheelers driven by minors in Rajouri town and fined 79 drivers for violation of motor vehicle act norms with main focus on use of crash helmets.
Senior Superintendent of Police Rajouri Yougal Manhas said that a number of minors were found driving two wheelers in Rajouri town in recent days after which different teams were constituted.
These teams headed by Deputy SP Operations, Pranav Mahajan, Deputy SP Adm, Chowdhary Latif, Deputy SP (Prob.) Dr. Ishan Gupta, SHO Rajouri, Sameer Jillani and IC PP City Rajouri SI Danish Maqbool laid traffic checking nakas at Panja Chowk, Salani bridge, BGSB university road, Gujjar Mandi and bus stand road.
During the course of checking at these nakas, 19 two wheelers driven by minors were seized on the spot. 79 vehicle drivers have also been challaned for violation under other sections with main focus on use of crash helmets.
Senior Superintendent of Police Rajouri Yougal Manhas has appealed all the guardians and parents not to allow their minor wards to drive vehicles to save precious human lives.
