VCE, Lakhanpur celebrates Silver Jubilee

JAMMU, Jan 17: Vivekananda College of Education (VCE), Lakhanpur Kathua today celebrated Silver Jubilee at the campus.
The Chief Guest of the occasion was Dr. Indresh Kumar member, Akhil Bhartiya Karyakarini, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh). Prof. Rajnikant, Controller of Examinations, University of Jammu was guest of honour. Lal Chand (IFS), Chairman, J&K Environment Impact Assessment Authority, presided over the function.
Other eminent personalities who graced the occasion were Vijay Sharma Advocate, Rajesh Gupta, Sardar Buta Singh, Captain Gian Singh Pathania, Vijesh Khanna, Shakti Pathak S.S.P Samba, Dr. Sudarshan Kumar Gupta Chairman of the College and Dr. Anju Sharma Principal of the college.
Chief Guest, Chair person & Guest of Honor was nobility with bouquets presented by Chairman Dr. S.K. Gupta on behalf of the college.
Dr. Sudarshan Kumar Gupta firstly highlighted the Swami Vivekananda’s excellence in education. He also threw light on the achievements of the college during these past 25 years from 1995-2020.
He said that college has given utmost emphasis on vocational education to increase the vocational efficiency and productive potentiality of the students that will ultimately contribute to national development.
Main items of the cultural programme were welcome song (B.Ed girls students), Dogri Dance by Khajoor Singh a renown Dogri artist, Poem by Vijaya Thakur & Giddha(B.Ed girls students).
All items were greatly applauded by audience. The dance performed by Mr. Khajoor Singh was marvelous. It was mind blowing performance. There was a lot of clapping from the audience side.
In his address, Dr. Indresh Kumar congratulated the management, Chairman and Principal of the college along with the staff and students for completing 25 years and for organizing such a grand & gala function.
He said that major goal of education is harmonious development of personality & it is the sum total of impressions created by words, thoughts, intellect, virtues, body & spirituality.
He further said that everybody must be proud of its language, caste, religion & motherland. He asked audience to perform certain activities i.e. to produce the sounds of various living & non-living things in order to differentiate between good and bad person.
Addressing the audience Chair person Lal Chand said that one must thank almighty God for accompanying the college in marvelous ways for completing its 25 years and helping through these years in keeping it safe, progressing, productive and always one step ahead in providing teacher education.
Guest of honour Prof. Rajnikant also addressed the audience. He too congratulated the college for completing its 25 years and for celebrating Silver Jubilee. He laid emphasis on the kind of values, Sankaras the pupils receive in schools & colleges.
Vote of thanks was presented by Dr. Anju Sharma, Principal of the college. She threw light on the major achievements and work done by the college during the past 25 years. She also highlighted the Swami Vivekananda’s philosophy on education and main reasons for naming the college at the name of this great saint.
