Early Times Report

Jammu, Jan 17: Call it as destiny or lackadaisical attitude of the concern authorities who are apparently seems least bothered to provide any warm clothes, blankets etc to the sadhus who are taking refuge near Shiv Mandir Trikuta Nagar in particular and in the vicinity of the flyover adjacent to famous Maulana Azad Stadium in general— As the on going harsh winter conditions with bone chilling cold have taken heavy tool on these poor nomadic people since officials at the helm of the affairs can warm themselves in cozy rooms— but it is sad to say there is one class of Sadhus who are deprived of the basic amenities like that of warm clothes, blankets courtesy the apathetic attitude of the so called Non Governmental organisations (NGO'S) who otherwise takes credit of the champion of providing basic amenities to these Sadhus and childrens of the lesser god who are from different states and living in open sky despite the tall claims of the administration to provide the help to the poor and distress who are in need. It is really astonishing that in this bone chilling cold which has broken the all the previous records of the cold in this newly created union territory following the abrogation of article 370 and the common people of this territory left no stone unturned in getting themselves equipped with the required facilities which are mandatory to keep themselves warm so that they could not face furry of cold weather and its ramifications as the persons who are aged prone to heart diseases— there is every apprehension of any untowards incident like taking away of one,s precious lives including of these sadhus as they shiver in cold with impunity and concerned authorities have not come to their rescue which is a big question mark on the administration who have turned nelsons eye towards them.
These sadhus when talked about their plights lashes out at the administration for not providing any blankets coupled with the accommodation in the form of shelter homes so that they could have sound sleep at night in particular during this cold adding, administration not provide them any accommodation on the plea that we don't have aadhar card.
Some among them identified themselves from Chhattisgarh while expressing their views in choked voice said that they are collecting cardboards and dry wood from market to lit the fire to keep themselves warm.
They said that the concern authorities has crossed all limits of cruelty as they don,t have any human conscience— that they are also human.
Even few of the prominent NGO who otherwise takes credit of helping poor and needy that never misses a chance to remain in limelight of the media is also not come to their rescue which is quite baffling and intriguing.
Sadhus make a sympathetic appeal to the administration to come to their rescue before they suffer and also to the concern NGOs to pay attention towards them before it is over for them.
