| ABKM deputation calls on Chairman National Commission for Backward Classes | | |

JAMMU, Jan 18: A deputation of Akhil Bhartiya Kashyap Mahasangh (ABKM) J&K Unit led by its state president Brij Mehra met with Chairman National Commission for Backward Classes Dr Bhagwan Lal Sahni and presented a memorandum regarding Backward Classes.
The deputation discussed several points including 27 percent reservation to OBCs of J&K on Mandal Report basis as it is being given to all OBCs in whole of India except J&K. The deputation requested this reservation should also be given to OBCs in J&K, political reservation to OBCs in J&K.
The deputation informed the Chairman that the OBC Commission in J&K is functioning vide 2016 Amendment Act and demanded that the Amendment Act 2016 should be withdrawn and census should function vide old act of 1997 while it also sought Sub Office of National Commission for Backward Classes should be open in J&K. |
